Document Indexing


Document Indexing is the process of identifying selective information from a document and associating that information with that document.


Basic examples include Invoices where we index the invoice number, supplier, date and amount. The allows the user to search on any index field to find matching documents, simplifying and reducing the time involved for document searching.


Openworld Data output index data in a wide variety of formats to meet the requirements of each customer's system. For example the index can be imported into any document management system, or alternatively documents or files can be named by a single or multiple index fields for document identification.
